The call for applications for support under the scheme entitled “Aid for energy-intensive industry related to natural gas and electricity prices in 2024” is open until 5 December 2024.

In the current call, the scheme is designed to provide financial support to energy-intensive businesses which incurred additional costs due to high electricity and natural gas prices in the first half of 2024.

Beneficiaries

The scheme will offer aid to energy-intensive companies that operate predominantly in industries listed in sections B and C of the Polish Classification of Activities (abbreviated in Polish as PKD), that is, extraction and industrial processing. Energy-intensive enterprises are companies whose electricity and natural gas bills in 2021 accounted for no less than 3% of the value of production sold. The aid will be provided in either a basic or increased variant.

Budget

The scheme’s budget is 942,646 million zloty, including:

  • 377 million zloty – for basic aid,
  • 565.5 million zloty – for increased aid.

The basic aid can be up to 50% of eligible costs, but not more than 4 million euro calculated jointly for all associated enterprises.

Increased aid is addressed to businesses which:

  • generated at least 50% of their total revenues from operations in one or more sub-classes of the Polish Classification of Activities (PCA) or codes of PRODCOM in the last closed financial year,
  • recognised a negative EBITDA or EBITDA not higher than 60% of the value of that ratio from 2021 in the qualified period.

The increased aid can be up to 80% of eligible costs, but not more than 40 million euro calculated jointly for all associated enterprises.
