The Ministry of Climate and Environment has announced that the bill amending the Wind Farm Investment Act is now in the lower chamber of the Polish parliament (Sejm). This is another step to make wind farm investment projects easier in Poland.

The bill revokes the so-called 10H principle, which prohibits construction of wind towers at a distance shorter than 10 times the wind-tower-height from nearest buildings. According to the bill, municipalities will be entitled to adopt a local spatial development plans providing for 500 m as the minimum distance between a wind tower and a residential building.

The amended Wind Farm Investment Act stands a chance to speed up the Polish energy transition and grow wind farm investments in Poland.
