The obligation to integrate online cash registers with payment terminals will be postponed until 1 April 2025 and, ultimately, abolished.

Originally, the requirement was to apply from 1 July 2022 but it did not enter into force because it was immediately postponed until 1 January 2025. In September 2024 – after over two years – the Ministry of Finance decided to respond to the demands of enterprises and to abolish the obligation to integrate online cash registers with payment terminals. Unfortunately, a bill abolishing the obligation was not published on time. For that reason, the Ministry of Finance decided to introduce a temporary solution (through Article 146 of the Act on top-up tax applicable to members of international and domestic corporate groups).

Therefore, the obligation has been postponed until 1 April 2025. During that time, the Ministry of Finance will probably prepare and publish a bill indefinitely abolishing the above-mentioned requirement.

Our experts constantly monitor and analyse all amendments and information published by the Ministry of Finance. If you would like to stay up to date or to know more about new obligations –  please contact us
