Risk analysis

A risk analysis in the context of personal data processing helps to consider the risks and threats in the case of a data leak, or loss of company equipment such as a laptop or mobile phone on which personal data are processed. It is also a good starting point for reflection on what technical and organisational measures should be implemented to minimise potential incidents or threats.

The GDPR requires some organisations to carry out a data privacy impact assessment if a certain type of processing (e.g. using new technologies) may pose a high risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons.
